Jessica’s approach to her work at Madhawu Consulting is grounded in cultural integrity, evidence-based practice and genuine partnership. She brings a strengths-based lens to all projects, ensuring that strategy, policy and program design are informed by community voice, lived experience and data insights. Her work is guided by principles of self-determination, co-design and ethical engagement, aligning strongly with Madhawu’s ethos of delivering culturally responsive, practical and impact-driven solutions for organisations working alongside First Nations peoples and communities.

ALCA Evaluation Project
Jessica was engaged as lead analyst to evaluate the Australian Land Conservation Alliance First Nations Engagement Strategy (Conference Activities), undertaking comprehensive data analysis that synthesised insights from panel discussions, workshops and observational findings. The evaluation assessed conference outcomes against the strategy’s objectives, translating results into clear, actionable themes aligned to key strategic priority areas. The project demonstrated Jessica’s capacity to deliver end-to-end culturally grounded, First Nations-led research.

Indigenous STEM Education Project
The CSIRO Indigenous STEM Education Project aimed to increase participation and success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics through culturally responsive programs, partnerships and curriculum initiatives. Its evaluation involved analysing program outcomes, engagement levels and community impact through a mix of data collection, stakeholder consultations and culturally appropriate research methods to ensure the initiatives were effective, relevant and community-led. Jessica assisted to triangulate data to identify key insights and contribute evaluation reports for internal and external stakeholders. The project demonstrated Jessica’s strong expertise in applying culturally appropriate research methodologies and stakeholder consultation processes.

Kalwun Child Safe Organisation Policy
Jessica led the end-to-end development of a Child Safe Organisation Policy Manual for Kalwun Development Corporation in response to new legislative requirements under the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024. The project involved a comprehensive audit of existing child safety policies and practices, relevant research and the extensive consultation with internal stakeholders, senior leadership and culturally informed practitioners. This approach ensured both legal compliance and ongoing culturally safe practice. Jessica synthesised consultation feedback into the final policy documents, coordinated approvals, and implementation supports.

Jellurgal Environmental and Social Sustainability Strategy
Jessica led the development of the Environmental and Social Sustainability Strategy (2025) for the Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre, the organisation’s first stand-alone strategy capturing and formalising its extensive sustainability work. The strategy established an integrated framework translating Jellurgal’s cultural values and community purpose into practical actions, informed by current research, state and national frameworks. Delivered through close collaboration with staff and First Nations community members, the work defined measurable targets, governance mechanisms and implementation tools.
